This panoramic sightseeing tour includes all major attractions of St. Petersburg.
Meet your private guide at the pier and after approximating 30-minute drive to the centre of the city, you will arrive at St. Isaac’s Square dominated by the St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the largest cathedral of the city. It is also one of the biggest one–dome cathedrals in the world after St. Peter in Rome and St. Paul in London. It was designed by the French architect A. Montferrand. It took 40 years to construct it. The cathedral is surrounded by 112 monolith granite columns, which were transported from one of the suburbs of the city. St. Isaac’s Cathedral was the main cathedral of the city from the second half of the 19th century.
During your panoramic sightseeing tour, you will also admire Nevsky prospect, the Basil Island, the Menshikov Palace, the Senate square, the Bronze Horseman, St. Isaac’s square, Peter and Paul Fortress (laid out by the order of Peter the Great in 1703 and it was built here to defend these lands from Sweden), the Palace Embankment, the Field of Mars, the Summer Garden, Smolny Cathedral. There are several photo stops during the tour, including at The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood – one of the main sights of St. Petersburg, built on the spot where the Emperor Alexander II who was mortally wounded.
Your tour includes also a Canal boat ride on Neva River (40 minutes).
After lunch (not included), you will visit the “Hermitage Art Museum” – former residence of the Russian emperors; one of the largest museums in the world after Louvre in Paris and the National Gallery in London. It is located in 6 historical buildings of St. Petersburg, including the Winter Palace – the former residence of the Russian emperors, the Small Hermitage, The Old Hermitage, the New Hermitage, the Hermitage Theatre and the General Staff Building. The buildings of the museum, by themselves, are architectural chefs-d’oeuvre. Magnificent works of art embracing prehistoric culture, Egyptian art, the art of Antiquity, Scythian gold, and great collections of Western-European paintings (Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens, El Greco, Claude Monet, August Renoir, Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso,Matisse and others) and sculptures are displayed in the 400 halls of the museum..
Transfer back to the pier.
