ITINERARY:

Day 1                     Palermo – arrival and pick-up the car rental at the airport.

Day 2                   Palermo – 3 nights
Free time at leisure to visit Palermo and the area : Cefalu, Capo San Vito, etc

Day 4                    Agrigento – 1 night
Discover the magnificent Valley of Temples, built by the Greeks in the 5th century BC. See the ruins of temples, necropolises, houses, streets, and everything else you’d expect to find in an ancient city…

Day 5-7                 Syracuse – 3 nights
Free days at leisure in Ortygia Island to experience the historic heart of Syracuse. Located at the park’s eastern end, and separated by a narrow channel, Ortygia is filled with Greek temples, Christian churches, and Arabian streets. Visit the Arethusa fountain and Piazza del Duomo, where the baroque palaces, such as Beneventano del Bosco Palace and Senate Palace are among the most beautiful in Sicily..
We suggest visiting Noto, Ragusa and Modica.

Day 7-10             Taormina – 3 nights

Free days at leisure in Taormina, the pearl of the Mediterranean Sea, the most famous Sicilian village; a marvelous town built sheer above a cliff, today one of the most popular tourist centers in eastern Sicily. Located on a hill 206 meters high Taormina became temporarily the capital of the Byzantine Sicilian province, before being the last Sicilian city to fall into the hands of the Arabs in 902 AD suspended between rocks and sea in a set of natural beauty.
We suggest taking an optional tour to Mt. Etna …  see the villages of Savoca, Forza D’agrò (featured in Godfather movie) ..

Day 11                  Taormina – Messina – Villa San Giovanni (Calabria) – Tropea
Departure for Tropea in Calabria, taking the ferry from Messina to Villa San Giovanni (Calabria)… On the way to Tropea, we suggest stopping in Scilla…

Day 12-13           Tropea – 3 nights
Free days at leisure in Tropea, with its iconic houses built into the clifftop and wide vistas over the turquoise ocean… relax at the stunning beach “Spiaggia Della Rotonda”…

Day 14                  Tropea – ferry Villa San Giovanni to Messina – Catania
Return to Sicily, taking the ferry from Villa San Giovanni to Messina. Continue to Catania and overnight.

Day 15                  Catania – 2 nights
Free time at leisure to visit Catania – Sicily’s second largest city has been devastated by volcanic eruptions of Mount Etna throughout its history, which you can see while walking. The main square, Piazza Duomo, is a great starting point to discover the small historic center of the city.

Day 16                  Catania – departure
Return the car rental to Catania airport. End of services.
